NTM Info & Research, Inc. would like to share with you a letter recently received from Dr. Elias Zerhouni, Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), to Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, who wrote to him inquiring about NIH's commitment to research and education regarding pulmonary NTM disease.
Our public policy consultant in Washington, D.C., Miriam O'Day, believes that Dr. Zerhouni's letter goes well beyond a typical response as it addresses the steps taken by the various government agencies on behalf of NTM research, and names our national organization. This is an important step in achieving a national voice for pulmonary NTM, and we are looking forward to continuing the forward movement!
